McDonald's pairs with Disney on villain Boo Buckets for Halloween

McDonald's is rolling out five Disney Villains Boo Buckets with Happy Meals this Halloween, a limited collectible drop built around some of the studio's most famous bad guys.

The chain has partnered with Disney on the new pails, set for release on October 20, 2026. They come with a Happy Meal and only while supplies last.

Brand Eating laid out the Halloween promotion as a straight collectible play: five designs, one seasonal window, no extras promised beyond the meal deal itself.

The lineup is pure villain deep cuts from the Disney catalog kids already know. Jafar. Ursula. Scar. Cruella. Maleficent.

Each bucket turns a standard Happy Meal stop into a short hunt for the character a child wants most before the stock runs out.

Scar, Maleficent, and company hit the Happy Meal counter

McDonald's has used Boo Buckets for years as its Halloween signature, plastic pails that double as candy carriers once the fries are gone. Pairing them with Disney's best-known antagonists keeps that formula intact and gives parents a clear reason to make an extra trip.

Disney gets another turn in the high-traffic world of fast-food toys. McDonald's gets five distinct shapes to push through the register during the build-up to October 31. The offer is simple on purpose: buy the Happy Meal, take the bucket, come back if you are still missing one.

Nothing in the rollout points to a national contest, app unlock, or tiered pricing scheme. It is a classic limited drop. Show up after October 20, 2026, order the meal, and hope your store still has the villain your kid named in the car.

That scarcity is the point. Happy Meal collectibles live on the fear of missing the last Scar or Cruella on the local shelf. Parents know the drill. So do the restaurants.

Limited stock, no frills, all season

The companies framed the buckets as a Halloween item, not a year-round line. Once supplies are gone, they are gone. No makeup date was announced. No nationwide inventory promise was attached.

For families, the practical read is narrow. If you want one of the five, plan around the October 20 start and treat it like any other short-run McDonald's toy event. Wait too long and the display is empty.

Jafar from the Aladdin era, Ursula from The Little Mermaid, Scar from The Lion King, Cruella from the Dalmatians story, and Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty give the set a wide net. Different ages recognize different faces. That spreads demand instead of parking it on a single figure.

McDonald's and Disney did not publish a public price beyond the Happy Meal tie-in, and they did not name specific cities or store lists. The offer reads as a standard promotional run through participating restaurants until the pails are claimed.

In a market full of complicated kids' marketing, this one stays blunt. Meal. Bucket. Villain. While supplies last.

Halloween still sells the old way, plastic pails, familiar villains, and a Happy Meal run before the shelves go bare.
