Chipotle revives $6 margaritas for Halloween in only five cities

Chipotle is rolling out $6 margaritas again for Halloween season through a five-city pop-up tour, leaving most fans waiting for a drink that vanished in 2020.

The fast-casual chain is bringing back its classic margarita for a limited run under a “Summon the Spirits” tour that stops in select cities every weekend in October, the New York Post reported.

The drink is not returning to regular menus nationwide. Fans who want it will have to find the pop-up bars, show ID, and pay $6.

Chipotle discontinued the margarita in 2020. Brand marketing chief Stephanie Perdue said demand never really cooled.

Perdue put it plainly:

“fans never stopped talking about our margaritas after they left the menu.”

She added that Halloween felt like the right moment to revive a Chipotle classic, and that the company is giving fans five weekends to rediscover it.

Five ingredients, $6, and a short list of cities

The margarita uses five ingredients: premium tequila, triple sec, citrus juice, agave nectar, and a lime wedge. Chipotle is selling it at dedicated pop-up bars with decorations and prizes. You must be 21 or older.

Perdue framed the drink the same way the chain talks about its food, simple and real.

“For five weekends, we’re giving fans the chance to rediscover the iconic Chipotle Margarita, made with just five real ingredients and the same simplicity we bring to our food.”

The tour kicks off in Denver, where Steve Ells founded Chipotle in 1993. Pop-up hours run 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. local time on Friday, October 2, and Saturday, October 3.

Next stops follow the same weekend window and hours:

  1. Brooklyn at 185 Montague St. on October 9 and 10
  2. Dallas on October 16 and 17
  3. Los Angeles on October 23 and 24
  4. New Orleans on October 30 and 31

The run leads into Chipotle’s longstanding Halloween-day “Boorito” promotion. Exact prize rules and full Boorito details were not laid out beyond the seasonal framing.

Fans already reacted online

Social media clips spread fast after the announcement. One TikTok user asked whether people had heard about the margarita special coming back. Another posted a dancing video under the line that life is worth living again, tagging Chipotle and leaning hard into margarita hashtags.

That reaction fits the company’s own claim: customers kept asking after the drink disappeared five years ago. The response is not a national menu fix. It is a five-city Halloween tour.

Most of the country will watch from the sidelines. If you do not live near Denver, Brooklyn, Dallas, Los Angeles, or New Orleans, the $6 pour is a rumor with a calendar, not a cup in your hand.

Chipotle built its name on simple food done straight. Bringing back a five-ingredient classic at a clear price is the easy part. Limiting it to a handful of lucky cities is the part customers will remember.
