Federal regulators recalled about 38,507 Amazon-sold magnetic figure sets after two children swallowed loose magnets and were hospitalized, showing the danger from detachable toy parts.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of Jerify Magnetic Humanoid Toy Sets on September 17, the Daily Mail reported. The agency listed the action as recall number 26-774.
The CPSC said magnets in the figures’ hands and feet can come loose. If swallowed, the high-powered magnets can attract each other or metal objects inside the body.
Each set contained 30 human-shaped figures. Individual figures measured about 2.7 inches tall and 2.5 inches wide.
The sets cost about $21 and were sold only through Amazon from October 2022 through May 2026. Hefei Hanchan Network Technology Co., doing business as Colerinsec, manufactured them in China.
The CPSC said the toys violate mandatory federal safety standards because their high-powered magnets can detach. The concern matches hazards seen in another large magnetic toy recall.
Regulators told consumers to stop using the Jerify sets immediately and take them away from children. Owners can contact Colerinsec by email for a full refund.
To receive the money, customers will be asked to throw away the figures and submit a photograph showing their disposal. The CPSC also warned owners against selling, donating or giving the recalled sets to anyone else.
That instruction matters because the hazard does not end when the original buyer stops using the product. Passing the set to another family would simply pass along the same loose magnets.
The agency received two reports involving children who removed magnets from the toys’ limbs and swallowed them. Both children required hospitalization, though their ages, locations and treatment details were not provided.
Small detachable pieces remain a recurring concern in children’s products, including products covered by the CPSC’s separate finger-light toy recall. Parents should treat the Jerify warning as an order to remove the sets, not merely inspect them.
The Jerify action follows two August recalls involving magnetic fidget sliders. The CPSC recalled about 2,186 BUSOHA sliders without any reported injuries.
A separate August recall covered about 860 Pixlabby magnetic fidget sliders. In that case, the agency reported that a child swallowed two magnets and was hospitalized.
Other actions included about 1,300 magnetic chess games sold on Amazon and recalled in February. The CPSC also recalled about 200 Beestech spiral tower toys sold through Amazon in April.
The broader list extends beyond magnets. Federal regulators have also addressed detachable parts in products such as Elmo teethers, another reminder that small components can turn ordinary children’s goods into serious hazards.
About 960 Spiral Toys sold through Shein were recalled on September 3. About 660 Temi Go Basketball toys sold on Amazon faced a separate recall in August 2025 for violating small-ball requirements.
Those actions sit alongside federal warnings about other toy hazards, including concerns tied to water bead toys. Different products pose different risks, but families bear the consequences when basic safeguards fail.
Parents cannot test every magnet, battery or detachable piece before a child plays with a toy. Manufacturers and online sellers must ensure products meet federal rules before they reach a family’s home.
Consumer safety begins with accountability: dangerous toys should leave the market quickly, and the companies behind them should bear the cost.
