Hold onto your wallets, fried-chicken lovers—KFC is bringing back a taste of the 90s that could save you a few bucks!
According to the Daily Mail, KFC has relaunched its legendary Original Honey BBQ flavor, a fan-favorite from decades past, alongside nostalgic pricing and special deals.
Back in the 1990s, KFC introduced the Original Honey BBQ sauce, a blend of sweet and smoky notes that quickly became a hit among chicken enthusiasts.
This flavor wasn’t just food—it turned into a cultural icon, with devotees sharing homemade recipes and flooding social media with pleas for its return.
After years off the menu, KFC has finally listened to the clamor and revived this beloved sauce.
Now, it’s not just for classic pieces; you can slather this sauce on tenders and sandwiches too.
KFC isn’t stopping at the sauce—they’re rolling out a full nostalgia campaign with throwback-themed specials throughout the month.
Even better, they’re slashing prices to match the vibe, dropping the sandwich cost from $5.49 to a wallet-friendly $3.99.
For the 13 days leading up to Halloween, KFC members can snag exclusive deals on popular items.
These offers include a free classic chicken sandwich with a $10 purchase, a 50% discount on a 12-piece bucket, and a 50-piece nuggets bucket for just $20.
These promotions signal KFC’s push to reconnect with customers at a time when competition is fierce.
Earlier this year, KFC slipped to the fifth-largest chicken chain in the U.S., overtaken by Raising Cane’s, which now ranks third behind Chick-fil-A and Popeyes.
With Wingstop also ahead, KFC trails in a crowded field despite boasting over 4,000 locations nationwide, with California alone hosting more than 400 stores.
As Catherine Tan-Gillespie, KFC boss, noted, “KFC's Original Honey BBQ... became a cultural touchstone.” She added, “What better way... to bring back this legendary flavor and reintroduce it... on everything.”
