Imagine a $15 million mansion in Montecito, California, becoming the epicenter of a celebrity-studded legal storm.

Pop icon Katy Perry’s yearslong battle over a luxurious estate with seller Carl Westcott has now pulled in actor Chris Pratt as a potential witness, with Perry seeking up to $6 million in damages, as Realtor.com reports.

In 2020, Perry, now 40, purchased a sprawling Montecito compound from Westcott for $15 million.

Days after the deal, Westcott tried to cancel the sale, alleging he was under the influence of painkillers and not of sound mind.

His legal team argued that his age, health issues, and medication impaired his judgment during the agreement.

What followed was a bitter legal feud spanning years between Perry and Westcott over the property’s ownership.

Court Ruling Upholds Perry’s Ownership Claim

In December 2023, a judge ruled in Perry’s favor, affirming the original contract arranged through her business manager.

By May 2024, Perry officially took possession of the 9,285-square-foot estate, boasting eight bedrooms, a tennis court, and more.

Yet, the saga didn’t end there -- Perry is now pursuing damages of up to $6 million for alleged repairs and lost rental income.

Chris Pratt Enters as Potential Witness

Enter Chris Pratt, 46, and his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, 35, who moved into the Montecito home as renters in 2024.

Pratt, temporarily residing there while building a custom Brentwood compound, was loaned the property by Perry.

Westcott’s lawyers now want Pratt to testify about the home’s condition upon his arrival, hoping to challenge Perry’s damage claims.

Legal Drama or Celebrity Spectacle?

A legal expert noted, as reported by Fox News, that Pratt’s testimony might be irrelevant if Perry made repairs before renting it out.

Judge Joseph Lipner has criticized Westcott’s team for potentially turning the case into a “celebrity circus.”

That assessment followed a failed attempt to involve Perry’s former fiancé, Orlando Bloom, as a witness.
