Taco Bell rolls out Olivia Rodrigo pink Baja Blast at locations nationwide

Taco Bell launched a limited-edition pink version of its signature Baja Blast on September 24, a celebrity collaboration with pop star Olivia Rodrigo that blends tropical lime soda with pink lemonade flavor.

The drink, titled "You Seem Pretty Pink for a Baja Blast," is a riff on the 23-year-old singer's album name, "You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love." It hit every Taco Bell in the country after debuting exclusively at the chain's Live Más Café locations on August 29, the same day Rodrigo kicked off her all-women music festival, Daisy Chain Fields, in Irvine, California.

Taco Bell said the beverage combines the "signature tropical lime taste of Mountain Dew Baja Blast with the refreshing flavor of pink lemonade," calling it "a vibrant pink twist inspired by her new musical era." Custom packaging is designed to match what the chain described as Rodrigo's "unmistakable aesthetic."

Rodrigo calls Baja Blast one of her favorite drinks

The partnership leans on Rodrigo's own fandom for the product. In a statement, USA TODAY reported Rodrigo said:

"One of my favorite drinks ever is a Mountain Dew Baja Blast, so I genuinely cannot believe You Seem Pretty Pink for a Baja Blast is real. I'm so excited for everyone to try it."

Whether that enthusiasm translates into sustained sales remains to be seen. Taco Bell did not disclose a price for the drink, and neither the chain nor the reporting specified how long the limited-edition run will last.

Sweepstakes for Rewards members starts September 29

Taco Bell is pairing the launch with a promotional sweepstakes. Starting September 29, members of the Taco Bell Rewards program can enter the "Taco Bell x Pretty Pink Picnic Kit Tuesday Drops Sweepstakes." The prize is a limited-edition Pretty Pink Picnic Kit that includes a branded blanket and basket themed to the drink.

Full eligibility rules, the number of kits available, and entry details beyond Rewards membership have not been publicly outlined.

Celebrity fast-food collaborations have become a reliable marketing playbook in recent years, with chains banking on a famous name to drive foot traffic and social-media buzz. Rodrigo, who built a massive Gen Z following, fits the demographic Taco Bell courts most aggressively. For the chain, the calculus is straightforward: attach a pop star's name to a neon-pink cup and bet that curiosity does the rest.

Whether consumers get much beyond a sugary novelty drink and a branded picnic blanket is another question, but nobody ever accused fast-food marketing of underselling the sizzle.
